Automated Façade Cleaning

About Sypron Robotics

The mission of Sypron Robotics is to make all tasks that can be described as dirty, dull, dangerous and repetitive automated. This will dramatically improve work conditions, increase rapidity, precision, repeatability, reliability and flexibility. Engineers in this division are dedicated to developing industry-grade novel service robots. Our solutions combine three major value add benefits: Excellent ROI, Effectiveness, High-Performance and Sustainability.

Automated façade cleaning is a sector of automation technologies that deals with cleaning building frontages, specially glass buildings. Glass, like any surface, required regular cleaning to give the required shiny look. For this matter, multiple systems were developed to allow human operators to clean these glass façades. The operation is mostly manual and the cleaning itself is done by a human operator where a system only helps the operator reach the glass façade so he can interact with it.

This of course poses safety concerts for the operators especially in bad weather. It also proves to be time consuming when the glass façade is large enough. This generated an interest for us to develop automated systems to suit this area where the automated façade cleaning systems ensure the safety of operators, because no operators are required to do the cleaning itself, and time efficiency of the cleaning operations.

Cloud Robotics

Cloud robotics connect robotic systems to internet technologies, such as cloud computing, Internet of Things and Web of Things. In such scenarios computations would be done efficiently on the cloud, saving robots power and memory usage and robots be able to utilize a wider range of data with minimal side effects on their systems and the need to build a complex middleware to connect and control robots is generally reduced.

Mobile Robotics

Integrating mobility into robotics entails a wider operational range and that means opening doors for more applications to benefit from robots. Robots move from exclusively performing static, repeatable tasks to performing dynamic tasks within enterprising environments such as exploration (aerial, on ground, under water), agricultural logistics and irrigation, warehouse logistics and other applications that require mobility.

Services Robotics

According to the International Federation of Robotics “a service robot is a robot which operates semi- or fully autonomously to perform services useful to the well-being of humans and equipment, excluding manufacturing operations”. Sypron engineers invest their time in combining the aforementioned technologies in designing autonomous robotic systems that can be placed within a dynamic environment to carry out services.

Z21 – Automated Facade Cleaning Robot

It’s Intelligent, It’s Fast, It’s Z21
Urban Skyscrapers covered with a curtain wall of glass are challenging to keep clean. It is only normal to see window cleaners dangling in front of these buildings, risking their lives to keep Skyscrapers looking clean and nice. Engineers at Sypron Solutions are offering the right fix for this problem, Z21 Robot.

S13 – Intelligent Solar Panel Cleaning Robot

Solar energy is one of the primal sources for energy in this era. Maintaining the cleanness of solar panels is a priority in order to maintain their efficiency.

Our S13 robot takes the lead when it comes to cleaning solar panels.

S13 is brilliantly designed and programmed to make solar panels brand new after each cleaning cycle

Take a look at Z-21 testing!

As automated façade cleaning is part of our portfolio, we introduce the Z-21 system as the key player for this area. The Z-21 system is installed on a building’s roof to clean its glass façade where the cleaning operations are done in an automated fashion. Two parts comprise this system, the Rooftop Unit and the Cleaning Unit.

The rooftop unit is three degrees of freedom (DOF) motorized crane that is responsible for positioning the cleaning unit and carries all the hanging cables as well as the computation tools.

The cleaning robot is equipped with motion and stabilization mechanisms and can automatically inspect and clean glass windows and façades. It has a higher cleaning capacity compared to the available manual cleaning systems. The cleaning unit is also designed to work in windy weather to some extent as it is designed to be supported by multiple steel wires and allows the air to pass through it instead of restricting the airflow.
